Week 17

Lots of changes have been going on lately. Not only do I feel like my belly has "popped" out to say "Hello", but I can FEEL baby kicking/moving much more often. I can't feel it everyday, but usually in the mornings I can feel a few good movements....which is amazing considering baby only weighs just less than 5 oz. and is a little over 5" long.

I've been doing lots of online shopping/browsing. Of course I haven't bought anything yet though! I know it's early, and we don't know the gender, but gosh things have changed in the last 3.5 years since I last looked at baby things. Check out this ultra plush diaper disposal contraption: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2919753. Not only does it hold like 40 diapers, but there is no twisting involved! You just use your foot! That totally beats the mess of Diaper Genie's method which invovles squishing the diaper in a compact department and twisting it (sometimes causing the diaper to explode) into the large compartment that the diapers go into.

Also, look at this. It will be awhile before we actually need one, but this device makes homemade baby food seem effortless. http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/beaba-babycook-baby-food-maker/. This ONE machine can steam food in minutes, blend food, AND defrost frozen food. It comes with niftly little trays for the freezer too. It even has it's own Cookbook! Of course Williams-Sonama would come up with this, they are genius (yet expensive)!

And one last thing. The Nap Nanny. How comfortable does this look? Too bad these things cost over $100!!

I'm taking up the goal to actually MAKE something for the new baby (and Trinity too while I am at it). I am going to use use the amazing sewing machine that was graciously given to me as a Christmas present, and make my mother-in-law proud! lol. Here are my goals (or at least something similar):

First, for Trinity, an adorable tutu. I have read that these can actually be made with out any sewing (which I might try first) but I know Trinity would love it either way.

Next, a baby blanket, gender specific of course, but something along these lines:

Needless to say, I am getting anxious! I'm going to attempt the tutu this weekend, so wish me luck. I'll post a picture (maybe) if it looks any good, lol.

18 days until we find out the gender.

President's Day Weekend

Wow, what a weekend! Chris and I decided, out of the blue, to take a road trip up to the snow. Trinity hadn't been up to the snow yet this winter, so we thought, hey we better get up there before it all melts! We drove to my parents house on Saturday, who live in Mariposa (about an hour from the nearest snow) and visited with them as well. We also made a detour in Fresno to go visit my 96 year old Grandpa, who is doing very well. On Sunday we headed to FISH CAMP. Fish Camp is a small (and I mean SMALL) town about 15 miles north or Oakhurst, and just a few miles from Yosemite Park. It has a general store, a small bed and breakfast, the ever so lovely Tenaya Lodge, and a pond. That's about it. OH yeah, and a SNOW PARK. We had a great time! I lasted about 2 hours before I started to feel reeeeally tired. Not being used to the elevation, AND being pregnant, definitely put a damper on my ability to participate, but here are some pictures:

Trinity did great! She was a total trooper and even went down the steepest hill all by herself! But, I think she liked building the snowman the best. She got tired relatively quickly too. We headed back to my parents house and proceeded to have a nice Valentines day which included watching the Olympics, eating Chinese take-out appetizers, grilled Lulu burgers, and (thanks hunny) Good & Fruity. Needless to say, we indulged ever so slightly after our exhilirating day at the Snow Park.

On top of all of this, I have taken my 16 week pregnant photos. Four weeks from today, we will find out what we're having! I've been trying (except perhaps over this last weekend) to keep my calories down, and activites up. I can not go through another 50lb weight gain! My doctor says I'm gaining weight at a slower rate then last time, so I must be on the right track. It's hard to exercise in between a full-time job, school, and being a mommy, but I'm trying!

Lets get started, it's Week 15 already!

Here we go! I've finally gotten the guts and motivation to start a blog. Today I am 14 weeks 5 days Prego with baby #2. While it may seem as a late start, nothing too exciting has happened yet. I think I might be able to feel baby move soon, it's hard to tell. I have felt something going on in there but who knows...could be gas! It feels like a little butterfly trying to flap its wings.

Baby is about 4 inches long. His/her eyelids aren't open yet, but can sense light.
Here's a photo from babycenter:

There has been minimal nausea so far, and since I'm 4 months along, I shouldn't have any more...right? Goodness I hope so.

Other than the expanding waistline, which still doesn't look like a prego belly, I don't show or have too many (physical) signs of pregnancy. Other than the (Sorry for the TMI) constipation, I feel good, somewhat energetic, and excited.

We find out March 16, 2010 what we are having, but don't worry, there will be more blog posts before then.
